76 Roses

Fantastic isn't it? My aunt made this for my grandma on her 76th Birthday. There are 76 roses in this pot, and all of them were handmade. It must took a long time to finish..

The requested cards

Didn't I promise you guys that I'll make cards with buttons? Well, here they are!

These are the cards that I made yesterday night. The first card is for my eldest sister who'll be having a 23rd birthday on 26th March. Doesn't a birthday card supposed to be a surprise? Well, this card is an exception. Since my sister and I share the same bedroom, she was there when I made this card. She watched me when I was making it, asked questions, offered her opinions, and complained whenever what I made doesn't suite her style. She even suggested the sentiment that I wrote on the front of this card! LOL :D Honestly, this card is rather too girly for her, she said that it was too pinkish, and I think that she thinks that this card looks too usual. Oh, well, I guess that I can make a better one next year....

The next card I made is for my sister's friend who's going to graduate this March (I think). The recipient of this card is a designer, and my sister said that she likes modern looking things and she loves pale blue. Well, the reason why I made an orange card is because I'm loving orange at the moment and I've no more blue buttons too. I don't know whether this card looks simple or modern enough...oh well...I've tried my best.....

To add interest to this card, and to make it more personal, I drew an image of the recipient who has long hair and big eyes and long eyelashes...lol...a bit childish, don't you think?

Enjoy!

PS: Do you guys notice the layers of  'scales' on both of the cards? Well, it was made out of a bunch of           circles, using the same technique that I did when I made the Christmas tree card ( check out the 'tree of punched circles' archive, December 2010)

Cards giveaway!

My sister's going back to Sydney and she said that she'll need a few cards. Thanks to her, my cards dwindled to 84! :)

Sunday's blog

Don't you guys sometimes feel that weekends pass too fast? Well, I very often do. This weekend is no exception. It's as if yesterday was just Friday and tomorrow's already Monday.

Anyway, sorry for not updating my blog for such a long time, for keeping you guys waiting....That's because I've been really busy at school, got exams for a whole two weeks ( which I've already passed ), and got another  exams in a about a week, and of course, my Kung-kung's death.

My kung-kung was cremated last Monday. Well, things weren't the same without him, for he was an active and chatty man. It must be really hard for my popo (my grandma), since she has always spends time with him, and be there for him during his last days. So, we kinda  have more family gatherings so that my popo would feel less lonely and think less about my kung-kung. My uncle's arranging the guest room in my popo's house, so that he can stay there with his family during holidays and other occasions. And, my nine years-old cousin also sleep with her now.

Though things are quite different from they once were, I believe that my popo's going to go through this all, for she is a very strong person. People may think that she's a soft and slow old woman, but in the inside, she has the strength to endure pain and she's been through a lot of hard times in her life.

Anyway, I'm dedicating this Sunday for making cards, so check out for that, and thanks for reading my blog!

Another sad goodbye

My Kung-kung passed away yesterday morning. I didn't think it would happen this soon since the medication he took seemed to have worked. The doctors also predicted that he'll survive a few months. Well, who knows? Goodbye, grandpa...
