Wallpaper for Cards

This might sounds weird...wallpaper? For cards? Come on! Trust me, it works!! Just like ordinary pattern paper... Actually, this idea was originally my grandmother's.

So there is a shop in a market, nearby my old house which sells wallpapers, drapes, bed sheets, and buttons (that was the place where I purchase my buttons!). One day, my mum and I went there, and the shop keeper said to my mum that he had picked out the albums of wallpaper that he has no longer used, which were requested by my mum's mum (my grandma).

We were confused: What? What did my grandma use the wallpaper for? Mum asked the shopkeeper again to make sure that the person who asked for the wallpaper was my maternal grandma not my paternal one. The only person who'll need wallpaper at the time is my dad's sister, my auntie, who's going to move to her new house in August, and so we thought that it was my paternal grandma who asked for the wallpaper.

Finally, my mum phoned my (maternal) grandma, and it was her that requested the wallpaper, and she said that it was for me, for me to make cards......

Wow. What an idea! Never thought of that before! And what's more, it's free, and the wallpaper has texture which is great for cards! A bundle of free wallpaper is just the same as a bunch of pattern paper, which saves you lots of money. I know this sounds ridiculous, but go ahead and asked some stores for old bundles of wallpapers, they're really, really useful. Happy hunting!

Bakin' Time!

How time flies.....it's been almost a month since the first day of my holiday. Didn't I ask you all on the previous archive about what things to do on a two-months-holiday? Well, I did everything that I could think of : swimming, sleeping, reading, sleeping, watching tv, ice-skating and sleeping again...-.-'...

Then the idea of making profiterole (which I think is the easiest and the only pastry I can make) crept to mine, so why not?

In the end though I got the profiterole too hard because I put too little egg in the batter, and I put too much sugar in the vla ( custard cream ) so it was rather too sweet....:P Anyhow, it was still acceptable, and since I still have much vla left, I'll make another batch of profiterole! Yum yum...Wish me luck!

Hello everyone, a week has passed since I posted my last archive. Haven't got the mood to write these days... Anyway, about a week ago, my grandma gave me this old bunch of buttons and I love them! You can make soooo many things with buttons... Actually, this card I made was inspired by Marc Jacobs' perfume bottle...luckily I got the perfect gold buttons to use :)

Card Challenge #1: Masculine Cards

My friend who's a frequent reader of this blog thinks that my cards are actually too girly and she asked me to make some masculine cards, which I found rather hard to make. After spending quite a lot of time thinking, finally I came up with some ideas and made these three cards. I found out that the trick to make cards for boys is to keep it simple, use selected pattern paper that suits boys, and making sentiment as the focal point of your card. Enjoy! :)

Thanx, Doc!

Hello everyone. I forgot to show you guys these two cards that I gave my dentist and nurses. Actually I made them in pink and purple color just because my dentist loves those two colors. She has a dental clinic painted with pink and purple, furniture in pink and purple, uniform also in pink and purple.     (Pink and purple used to be my fav colors when I was younger, however I prefer grey and navy blue now) Enjoy!

First day without braces, oh yeah!

After two years of suffering, multiple tooth extractions, occasional cankers, countless visits to dentist, finally, today, on the 27th of May, I got rid of my braces!! Such a happy feeling! Actually it feels kinda weird though, like something's missing.  I'm still not used to such straight and smooth teeth :P, simply can't stop licking them across or grinning to myself. Sayonara protruding teeth!

P.S. My dear sister left a comment here; she thought that I should put my teeth image in this post, and so I did. I wouldn't do a 'before and after' photos though, it would be too humiliating :P

DF Review

Hi everyone! Deep in the forest set of cards ended yesterday. What do you think of the cards? Easy to make, huh? You only need a set of animal stickers, a circle punch, a black pen, and a few pattern paper to make all seven cards.

Anyway, you might want to take a closer look at the sentiment and sticker on each card. The deliberate misspellings, such as 'sweet' became 'tweet', 'dear' became 'deer' add interest to the cards, making them more funny.

Anyhow enjoy, and happy holiday! :)
