Clay Projects

Yesterday I bought a pack of clay from a local bookstore because I think that I can make a lot of things from clay and that it would be nice for me to have something to do during my holiday.

The clay that I used is the DAS clay and I really like it because it's really moist and easy to shape. If it gets a little too dry, just wet your hands and squeeze the clay until it feels damp again.
Anyway, this is how you make the pots:

To make the lateral surface of the pot, just grab a handful of clay, depending on how big you want to make the pot. Then, roll it with a dough roller until you get a nice thin layer of clay. Cut it to a rectangular shape and then, bend it over until the smaller two of the four sides meet and form a cylinder.

To make the base of the pot, cut out a circle and stick it to the lateral surface of the pot. It'll stick better if you wet the upper side of the circle that meets the lateral surface of the pot.

Let the pot dry for a bit, then, you can decorate it with paint, pattern paper, or lace tapes. However, I don't recommend you to use poster paint because it's realy hard to dry!

You can make varying size of pots and vases by adjusting the size of the rectangle that will be the lateral surface of the pot.

Hopefully, my instruction is clear enough. Anyhow, Enjoy! :)
