the tree of punched circles

I was surfing the net when I saw a card with a christmas tree made of a bunch of circles. I think that that was a super cool idea, and I rushed to my bedroom to make one of my own (style).....

So here they are :)...... actually, I made the red one first, the colour is pretty traditional, with some brown and cream cardstock combined with green pattern paper.

Then, I got the idea to make a more modern one, using purple colour scheme....and the result was totally awesome! In fact, I like the purple more than the red one.

Anyway, in this archive, I'm going to show you how to make the christmas tree..:D!

- step 1
Cut an isosceles tree from a cardstock
( I recommend you to use a harder cardstock cause it's gonna hold a lot of circles with some heavy embellishments)

-step 2
Then, cover the entire area of the tree with some glue ( I used double tape, which makes less mess than a liquid glue)

- step 3
Punch out some circles ( I used the 3/4 inch punch) out of some different pattern paper or cardstock

- step 4
Stack the circles from the very bottom of the tree right to the top. It's okay if your circles stick out from the tree pattern cause you'll trim it off later

- step 5
After you finished putting the punched circles, trim the  circles that sticked out from the tree, except for the circles at the bottom row

- step 6
To further embellish the tree, put on some glitter, draw some dash lines, and stamp some of the circles with a flower stamp. Actually, I used glossy accents to glue the glitter (though it's not a kind of adhesive), because it was sticky and the glitter sticks to it really well, and it creates less mess than other common liquid glue.

- step 7
Cut out a strip of cardstock to make the trunk and use a regular paper punch to punch out a circle then, put some glitter to it, and glue it to the top of the tree

You can use this tree in many many ways. For example, you can use it to decor your house, hang it somewhere or to embellish you christmas present or glue it to your own handmade christmas wreath.

So, enjoy! :)
