Hellooo Singapore!

Wow. This blog hasn't been updated for such a long long time....Anyway, school has started again, waking up at 5.30 every morning drive me crazy, man!! Also, on my first day, I was late and got a detention. -.-' That's a great way to start school, huh? Anyhow, I am very grateful to have such nice classmates and to have such competent teachers. I still miss the old ones though, and I still miss my holiday...

Bugis Junction

Well, the reason why I missed my first day at the first day of the start of school was because I was still in Singapore that day. It's been a fun four-days-vacation. And I wanna share my experience with you guys.

It was Thursday morning when we (mum, I, my grandma, my auntie, and my cousin) flew to Singapore. All went well, until it was time for us to go to our hotel. My mum bought vouchers for Hotel Ibis Bencoolen, meaning that this hotel is located in the area around Bencoolen street. When we arrived to Ibis, my mum handed out the printed vouchers to the receptionist. It took quite a long time to figure out that actually, my mum booked the wrong hotel. The hotel mum has actually paid was called Bencoolen Hotel. It confused my mum, she clicked the word Ibis Bencoolen when she bought the voucher. The word Bencoolen Hotel was written on the print out, but then, my mum thought that it was the Bencoolen from Ibis Bencoolen.

Rather disappointed, we walked to Bencoolen hotel, to find the hotel looked sort of ...old. However, the bedroom was okay, clean, and larger than the one in Ibis. On the downside though, this hotel was much farther to Bugis Junction compared to Ibis. Beware when you're reserving hotel on Internet, guys...

The next day, we visited Universal Studio, it was a nice theme park, much smaller than the one in Tokyo, I think. I was there for nine hours straight, from 10 am. to 7.30 pm. Anyway, it will save you a lot of money if you buy the tickets online, as what my mother did. She got 20 percent discount for mine and her tickets, and she got 50 + 20 percent discount for my grandma. What's more, if you use master credit card, you can get a free 10 dollar coupon to buy any thing in the gift shop.

Basically, the area inside Universal Studio was divided to five smaller areas. There are The Lost World, Ancient Egypt, King Harold's Far Far Away, Sci-Fi City, and Madagascar. The roller coasters in Sci-Fi city were awesome! There were two different coasters, one was called human and the other named cylon. Bear in mind that if you don't ride these coasters in Universal, you don't ride anything at all. The 'human' coaster was okay, but otherwise the 'cylon' was totally cool!! It spun and curved and dropped, you'll scream 'til you lose your voice. I felt sligthly dizzy after I had this ride.

The next coaster I ride was The Revenge of the Mummy's. And because the weather in Singapore was sooo hot, this indoor roller coaster was the perfect ride for you to cool yourself. It was a fun, pleasantly
entertaining ride, with sharp turns and sudden acceleration but not too scary to numb your feet. Mind you, I had this ride for three times. I went there alone at first, and (I didn't know what was inside my mind) I went there with my grandma (fortunately my grandma is one strong girl), and lastly with my mum. She was mad, man!

"How can you asked your grandma to ride such a coaster!?" Honestly guys, after I had that 'cylon' coaster, I didn't feel a thing with this mummy ride. Oh, well!

Another safe-family-entertainment was the Shrek 4D. Nah this one was exactly the same as the one in Japan, Only the conversation was in English, not Japanese.

There were still a lot of ride I had, but mate, this would be a reallyy longgg post if I include them all.

So that was it, one long day at Universal Studio. I want to remind you, that after one whole day of playing roller coaster, you have to make sure you pay a visit to the gift shops. There are soo many Oscars statuettes, every one can have an Oscar, huh?


The rest of my days in Singapore were spent in malls. Singapore has a lot of nice malls. And if you are a food aficionado, you'll find Singapore a cuisine paradise. Try any resto that comes your way and you usually will find the food very satisfying. The image on the top left shows stuffed squid in the Japanese cuisine exhibition in Raffles Mall. yum yum!


Oh! And guys? I found a crafts store there!!!! There was also Spotlight, though they don't have many collection of stamps and ink pads. Well, the card supplies store I was talking about was located in Plaza Singapura. They have many stamps there, including some famous brand like Hero Arts and Maya Road, I was ecstatic! But then, I saw the price, and  arrgghhh.... But I did buy  three sets of stamps though (can't help it, man!), and several ink pads and their refills. I have versamagic ink pads at home, and I think they dry rather quickly so I try the memento ones, and they seemed to work fine, I bought their refills too though, just in case. And there are no refills for versamagic, that's why I was rather reluctant to purchase them.
